My Fitness Journey

Growing up in Romania, I had the benefit of living in a very active family. My grandfather was my number one fitness influencer and motivator. He didn't allow me to go to bed without completing my 100 push-ups and crunches that day, every day. Consequently, he built a pull up bar, a set of rings and a bench in his garage and he was assisting me while training and always pushed me to do one more rep.

At the age of six I started gymnastics and karate, Quan Qui Do, a Vietnamese style, which I practiced for 6 years and participated in Regional and National Competitions.

At the age of 12 I moved to Italy where I restarted gymnastics. This is when I initially learnt how to handstand and started to use parallel bars and rings in my training and after a few months I attended a regional competition where our team qualified 3rd.

Therefore, fitness became part of my lifestyle; I don't do it because someone tells me to do it, I do it because it's who I am.

After I've got my degree in International Relations, I moved to Austria for one year and from there to London. After a few sales jobs I realized that it was not the right thing for me, and I decided to enter the fitness industry. I started as a receptionist in a start-up gym. After a few months the gym owner sponsored my Level 2 and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications and shortly after I started to work at Virgin Active where I reached the master personal trainer level.

My training consists of bodyweight exercises, such as push ups, pull ups, pistol squats and other variations based on each person's level. I'm also a handstand coach and I'm specialized in teaching a few callisthenics moves like the ring or bar muscles up, front & back lever as well as the pancake (advance gymnastic position that is required to unlock the press to handstand). In addition, I'm specialised in shoulder imbalances that come from bad posture or overtraining. I like to focus on the basics and educate my clients so that they feel more confident about their training, and strongly believe that it is possible to change your body if you are willing to commit, work hard and develop the right mindset. A set of simple exercises performed a few days a week together with adequate eating habits can have a very positive effect if performed consistently over time.

If money and time weren't an issue:

I would own a hand full of dogs and spend my time in a hot county & would also build a community of people that like to train and be active and possibly each own a dog

My Fitness Journey

Exercise and health have always been my passion from a very young age. Growing up I played many team sports which gave me my first experiences of being part of a community, which I still love today.

From as early as possible I specialised my education solely on health and exercise, and I've got a BSc in Sport & Exercise for Health. Soon after I moved to London and started my carer as a personal trainer at Virgin Active and became a master personal trainer, which requires a level 4 qualification as well as delivering a minimum of 800+ hours of personal training.

Since then I've worked with a wide variety of people and I'm passionate about encouraging females to begin and progress their weight training.

After the lockdown I started Weight Lifting and hired a coach to help me not only understand the sport better, but also become a better coach. Three years in and it's safe to say I improved in both.
